igloo Heartlands featured in Guardian Money

At igloo, the projects we deliver are guided by the principles of imaginative design, and positive impact for people, place and planet. A recent Guardian article about our HomeMade® custom build project in Heartlands, Cornwall, reflects just this.

Heartlands is a custom build scheme developed under igloo’s HomeMade® brand, that allows prospective buyers to select a plot of land on which to build a home and work with an architect to design to individual preferences. An overview by article author Julia Kollewe reads: “A pioneering project in Cornwall is laying the foundations for a revolution in the way British homes are bought and built.”

The article also features insight from Nathan and Ellie Billings, two of the first plot owners at the development. “We wanted to do something more interesting than just go and buy a new house, and this is an area where we already live,” explains Nathan. “We’ll get an architect’s bespoke home but for the price of a mass-produced home on an estate.”

We’re pleased that to have been featured by the Guardian and we’re excited to pioneer a new way to build and buy homes in the UK. Thanks to Nathan and Ellie for taking part in the feature!
