Dundashill project ready to deliver 600 new homes in Glasgow

Scottish Canals has commenced work on site to deliver 600 high quality homes in Port Dundas, situated on the former Diageo distillery site in Glasgow. Igloo Regeneration is the Development Manager for the project.

Ground preparation works, which are being funded by the Glasgow City Region City Deal and Scottish Canals, are already underway by specialist contractor I&B Brown. House-building is expected to be on site in Autumn 2019, (and is likely to be delivered by a range of partners, including Bigg Regeneration, a Scottish Canals JV with Places for People Capital), with the first residents expected to move into their new homes in 2020. Dundashill will contribute to the 3,000 new homes being built across North Glasgow over the next few years.

The site will also benefit from energy efficient street lighting and an intelligent water management system that will carry surface water runoff into the nearby Forth and Clyde Canal.

Dundashill forms part of the wider multi-million-pound regeneration of the Glasgow Canal, including Pinkston Watersports Centre, Glasgow’s Wake Park and the opening of Rockvilla, home of the National Theatre of Scotland, all of which have cemented the area as a thriving and unique creative hub and urban sports playground.
