Susan Hickey welcomed into Board Finance and Investment role

igloo is delighted to announce the addition of Susan Hickey to their Board as Group Finance & Investment Director.

As a qualified chartered accountant, Susan brings a wealth of experience to the igloo team, gained across a variety of roles at organisations including Balfour Beatty, Credit Agricole, and 10 years as Chief Financial Officer at social housing provider Peabody.

As Group Finance & Investment Director at igloo, Susan will lead the finance and investment team and support Chief Executive Peter Connolly in developing opportunities to grow igloo’s investment management business.

Having grown up and started her career in a small town in New Zealand, Susan understands the importance of a strong sense of community and the impact sustainability can have on local people. A strong believer in sustainability and responsible real estate, igloo proves a great next move for Susan, whose values align with our purpose of driving positive change by funding and delivering places that are good for people and the planet.

Alongside her role at igloo, Susan serves as a non-executive director for companies operating in responsible real estate, bringing invaluable experience to the igloo team in implementing sustainable finance across a broad range of projects.

On joining the igloo team, Susan said, “igloo’s track record of purpose driven development alongside such a reputable, values driven culture made the decision to join the company a very easy one. I’m looking forward to bringing my experience to the table at a very exciting time for igloo and working with the team to execute a challenging growth plan”.

igloo’s Chief Executive, Peter Connolly, added, “Susan is joining the business at a very important time as we embark on a range of new projects as well as the expansion of existing partnerships. We have a unique opportunity to offer a range of services to investors and partners who want to deliver impact driven projects. We will be drawing on Susan’s extensive knowledge of sustainable investment as we bring forward our group strategy into 2021”.
