Creating lasting change takes time, dedication and genuine passion. Whether it’s delivering new neighbourhoods, restoring heritage assets or finding new ways to put People, Place and Planet at the heart of development, our work has always been shaped by the people behind it.
For more than 20 years, colleagues across igloo have helped challenge convention, build partnerships and create positive impact in the places we work. Their expertise, commitment and belief in doing development differently have helped build the business we have become.
That’s why we’re proud to introduce a new employee milestone recognition scheme, designed to celebrate and give back to the people who continue to shape our story.
Recognising long-term commitment
At igloo, we’re proud to have colleagues who have chosen to build their careers with us for the long term, with some reaching milestones of 5, 10, 15 and even 20 years with the business. Their knowledge, experience and dedication have helped us deliver projects that create lasting value for communities and the environment.
The longevity of our team reflects more than years of service. It reflects a shared commitment to responsible development and a belief that the places we create should have a positive impact long into the future.
That long-term commitment can also be seen in our recent leadership transition. After leading igloo for 20 years, Peter Connolly has stepped into the role of Chair, with John Long succeeding him as CEO. Fittingly, John has also recently celebrated 20 years with the business, reflecting the strong legacy of experience and dedication that continues to guide igloo forward.
A scheme rooted in our values
Our new milestone recognition scheme has been designed to reflect the culture and values that sit at the heart of igloo.
Colleagues reaching a milestone will receive personalised recognition gift for themselves and a plus one that reflects their interests, while staying true to igloo’s sustainable and ethical approach. Gifts to date have included sustainable hampers, theatre tickets, dinner for two and even an eco-retreat. Each milestone will also be marked through tree planting, with one tree planted for every year of service on behalf of the colleague. From 10 years onwards, colleagues will receive additional annual leave in recognition of the years they have spent helping shape igloo.
Celebrating the people who make igloo what it is
To ensure colleagues receive the recognition they deserve, the scheme has also been applied retrospectively.
As a result, we’ve already had the pleasure of celebrating colleagues across the business and committing to the planting of more than 200 trees in recognition of their years with igloo.
We look forward to celebrating many more milestones and recognising the people who continue to make igloo what it is.
